So I am officially nominated!!! I received an email this morning saying my toolkit had been updated (I didn't have a username yet though, so I had to call my recruiter). I'm nominated to Sub-Saharan Africa for secondary science education departing in early February 2011! My recruiter had emailed me saying that the positions for after March 2011 weren't available yet, so I told him I could leave early February if there were any positions available. Turns out there was one, and he emailed me giving me the details and asking if I would be interested. It involves teaching primary or secondary science and the ability to ride a bike. I emailed him back asking where, and when I received an email saying "Sub-Saharan Africa" I almost screamed. I think that replying to that email was more of a reflex than a conscious decision.
Anyway, I'm just awaiting the butt load of paperwork for the medical evaluation which is undoubtedly finding its way here as I speak. Then I get to begin the thrilling (sarcasm) and efficient (more sarcasm) process of making appointments with every doctor in the Phoenix area and having extensive forms filled out to Peace Corps specifications.
On a side note, I ate two fortune cookies today and the fortunes read "You will be involved in many humanitarian projects" and "A letter of great importance may reach you any day now". Hmm.. coincidence?
